Be Busy¶
"If you're not dizzy, you're not busy". -Rick Susie, $2 million-earner in the financial industry.
If you can memorize all your clients and all your appointments in your head - you're not busy enough.
Remember, work expands to the time allocated. If you create a lifestyle where you only work Monday through Thursday from 10:30am to 4:30pm, as an example, you will get just as much done as from 7:30am to 6pm. It's not the time that matters but the outcomes.
Appear Busy¶
"Busy professionals need to know they're dealing with other business professionals" -Nick Murray
-
Always appear busy, even if you're not. When scheduling an appointment it's okay to reject the first offer of a scheduling slot - this indicated that your calendar is full.
-
Do not tell clients, "I'm available for you at anytime, 24/7. Call me on the weekends, holidys and in the evenings." This appears needy and desperate. Doctors don't do this. Lawyers don't do this. Accountants don't do this. Professionals don't do this. Only amateurs do.
Don't Be Needy & Don't Beg¶
"The single-biggest mistake you can make in the influence business is to appear needy." -Michael
