I did some independent research and listened to the Capital Group podcast on ESG funds. Interestingly, if you listen to the podcast, Natasha Braginsky Mounier (Capital Group's ESG Investment director) talks about how Washington Mutual does screen as an ESG fund because it doesn't invest in alcohol or tobacco companies.
